With the chaos in our current up-side-down world, I’m left wondering what our 2020 wedding season will look like.. The governor did open back up weddings with new restrictions, but how many clients will pass on social distancing and wait for ‘21 hoping for the wedding they dreamed up? In the meantime, my current work has a new feeling. A thankfulness for being in the field again, a new found excitement to be shooting. It seems my clients’ are sharing in this renewed joy. I’m shooting more friends’ sessions and extended family sessions than ever before. I’m thankful for the work and I think we are all thankful to be out of the house.
Spring in the Green House
The new life of spring is making it’s appearance, finally! We got out for a fun two year milestone session with sweet Rylan on a mild overcast March afternoon. He was sheepish at first..
But after a bit of goofing around he warmed up. We had fun exploring and shooting at this beautiful location.
These spring greens and the soft hazy spring light made for such a beautiful backdrop.
The winter life of a New England photographer
When your 55+ hour work weeks get cut in half, what’s a girl to do? Other than the occasional brave family who wants a magical, snowy, winter session and my regular newborn clients, my session and edit work load is less than half during these chilly winter months. So what does that look like for the work week? First off, if I am being honest.. it means I get to meet up with friends for a long run and lunch way more often. ha! Winter isn’t so bad I guess, huh?! But it also has me catching up on the other parts of running a business that get sorely neglected during the busy season. Book keeping, website maintenance, equipment maintenance, shopping for updated family session and newborn props.. Also, contracts and meetings with prospective clients, and hopefully for 2019 - the occasional blog post? We’ll see.. no promises on how riveting the content will be..
